Local startups benefit from angel investors
Crain's Detroit Business - May 15, 2006 - Todd Sullivan founded his Internet-based business after graduating from UM's business school in 2005. The company is based on a business plan that won a school competition.
He had already finished his first round of angel investing, declining to specific an amount but saying "it's a good neighborhood." Participants included Matt Turner of Amherst Fund L.L.C. and Marc Weiser, co-founder of Waypoint Ventures L.L.C., both of Ann Arbor. Weiser made his investment as an individual, not on behalf of his VC firm, which has recently changed its name to RPM Ventures.
