"The economics are dramatic. There are a lot of dollars out there to be saved," said Jurvetson, managing director of California-based Draper Fisher Jurvetson, which has $1.7 billion under management in eight funds. "Automotive is a big sector, and it's been ignored."
Draper Fisher has teamed up with Ann Arbor-based RPM Ventures to invest in XTime Inc., a San Mateo, Calif.-based software company that targets auto dealers.
