Marc Weiser

Marc Weiser is a founder and Managing Director of RPM Ventures. At RPM, he is involved with the boards of BountyJobs, OpenLane, RiverGlass, TetraVitae, QuantumLearning Technologies, and Xtime. He was previously involved with the boards of Entegrity Solutions, R4 Global Services, Applimation, and QuantumShift.

Mr. Weiser has significant entrepreneurial experience in the technology industry as a founder of Web-based telecommunications management and services firm QuantumShift, a venture backed company that raised more than $140 million. At QuantumShift, he was the executive in charge of early technology and e-commerce systems development. In addition, he was one of the first employees at MessageMedia, where he was a member of the road show team for its Initial Public Offering. While at MessageMedia, he pioneered some of the original methods for e-commerce transactions and assisted in launching the first Internet merchants. He has also spent time in business development for Dell Computer Corporation and was an associate at Arbor Partners, an early stage e-commerce venture capital fund based in Ann Arbor.

Mr. Weiser is an active member on the board of the Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Michigan College of Engineering where he is an Adjunct Professor. He serves as an advisor to the Wolverine Venture Fund, a student led venture fund at the University of Michigan Business School. Additionally, he is on the board of McKinley, a $2.5 billion national real estate firm. He is an investor and advisor to a number of non-technology companies and was named to Crain's Detroit Business 2006 "40 Under 40" list.

Weiser graduated cum laude from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in aerospace engineering and earned his Master's degree in Business Administration with highest distinction from the University of Michigan. He lives in Saline, Michigan, with his wife, and 2 children.

Tony Grover

Tony Grover

Grover is managing director of RPM Ventures, a seed and early stage venture capital firm based in Ann Arbor, Mich. Founded in May of 2000, RPM has built a reputation as an early stage venture capital firm with a unique investing strategy and core platform that enables it to provide exceptional deal flow and high value add. The firm has also developed a strong reputation as a trusted investing partner to several West Coast firms. He brings to RPM over 15 years of private equity, operating, and technical knowledge and experience spanning a wide array of industries and corporate settings.

At RPM, Grover is involved on the boards of Performix, a leading provider of manufacturing execution systems software that enables flexible, real-time plant operations for batch process manufacturing customers; Arbor Photonics, a designer and marketer of novel high power fiber laser components and systems for materials processing applications; Eden Park, developer and solution provider of next generation environmentally friendly lighting solutions; and JanRain, a provider of online identity management platforms delivered as an on-demand subscription service.

Grover was previously involved on the boards of FLX Micro, a developer of advanced MEMS sensors for harsh environment applications based upon its proprietary technology platform in silicon carbide microfabrication; ShareThis, an online advertising network powered by its one-click simple content sharing platform utilizing proprietary genetic algorithms; VizionWare, designer and manufacturer of digital interconnect cables, based on proprietary EMI reduction technology, for consumer and commercial digital based audio/video entertainment systems; and Mobius Microsystems, a leader in CMOS based system-on-chip technology with a focus on converging disparate semiconductor components onto a single chip utilizing digital, analog and radio frequency design expertise.

Before co-founding RPM, Grover was vice president at White Pines Ventures, a $100 million venture capital firm. In this capacity, Grover was responsible for investments in telecommunications, software, Internet and supply chain sectors.

Prior to joining White Pines Ventures, Grover was co-founder of Promotum, an Internet-based promotions, marketing, and services company that obtained seed capital from Pandesic, a joint venture between Intel Corporation and SAP. He was responsible for developing corporate strategy, day-to-day operations and managing technical development.

Grover serves on the advisory board of the University of Michigan Frankel Commercialization Fund, a pre-seed investment fund established to identify and accelerate the commercialization of ideas generated within the University of Michigan community, and co-manages the RPM-10 entrepreneurial internship, a program that seeds University of Michigan student run businesses through grants from the University of Michigan College of Engineering Center for Entrepreneurship.

Grover received finance, engineering and manufacturing experience serving as a business and cost analyst with Intel Corporation and as a manufacturing engineer for Cummins Engine Company. He holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan, a Master of Science in industrial engineering from Purdue University, and a Master of Business Administration from the J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Business. He lives in Ann Arbor, MI with his wife and two sons.

Tim Street

Associate, RPM Ventures

Tim Street is an Associate at RPM Ventures.  Prior to joining RPM Ventures, Street was an Industry Manager with Frost & Sullivan’s Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Division in Palo Alto, CA and Seattle, WA.  He managed all aspects of Frost & Sullivan’s Space & Communications Group, including P&L responsibilities, business development, operations, and consulting services.  While at Frost & Sullivan, he led engagements with a number of the world’s largest satellite companies including Intelsat, Hughes Networks Systems, Iridium Satellite, and Boeing.  He achieved significant new revenue growth in the Group, and managed the team across multiple countries (U.S., France, Germany, and Singapore).  Street has also been quoted numerous times in Via Satellite, BusinessWeek, Satellite News, Communications Daily and other industry publications. 

Street holds a Master of Science in electrical engineering from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada and a Bachelor of Applied Science in electrical engineering from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.  He lives in Ann Arbor with his wife.

Adam Boyden is responsible for marketing, business development and U.S. operations. Previously, Adam was the vice president of business development and marketing and then general manager of Xfire, a provider of communications and tools to more than 11.5 million gamers worldwide that was acquired by MTV Networks for $110 million in 2006. Prior to Xfire, Adam was the cofounder and former CEO of Autodaq (now OpenLane), the leading online automotive marketing company. Additionally, Adam was the founder and former general manager of the China Consultancy, an advisory firm to companies entering the Chinese market. Boyden holds a 1st Class Honors BSc in Engineering Science from Exeter University, and an MBA from Stanford University.
